Car:
1995 Chevy Monte Carlo Z34
Description:
I was on my way to work, first thing in the morning on a Saturday. I
pulled out onto the road that goes nearly straight from my house to my place
of employment. The white Impala pulls up behind me and starts swerving side
to side, gets right up on my rear bumper, then falls back, and repeats the
process. I ignore him and keep driving, and eventually he falls back from
sight. Finally, I get close to my work. I stopped in the road, waiting for
oncoming traffic to pass so I could pull into the parking lot. Out of
nowhere, the the white Impala which was estimated by the policeman to be
doing 75 at the time, in a 45 zone, flies down the road and plows into the
rear of my Monte Carlo. Mind you, I was at a dead stop in the road.
Well,
this knocked me out, and pushed me into oncoming traffic where the Toyota
SUV, going 50, plowed into my passenger door. I suffered 6 broken ribs, a
punctured lung, a lacerated liver, and spent 12 days in the hospital. When
asked what happened, the driver of the Impala said that he had been working
all night, implying that he was possibly falling asleep at the wheel. Just
in case you're wondering, the right rear wheel is about 100 feet down the
road in the parking lot of a mortgage company, and the brakes from the right
rear were found about 10 feet behind where the first picture was taken,
hanging in a tree. All the glass was blown out of the car, and what is left
of the passenger door is touching the center console.
