Driver comments: "The crash occurred on 4/16/02 while I was stopped at a traffic light. A drunk driver/drug addict in a king cab truck hit me a 70 m.p.h. sending my car from the northbound lanes over into the southbound lanes. I was knocked out instantly. I suffered many injuries but am recovering well thanks to God, my seatbelt and my safe 2001 VW New Beetle. My neurosurgeon said that I will have to live with the back, neck & shoulder pain pretty much the rest of my life. The drunk fled on foot once police arrived then later phoned the police to report that his uninsured truck had been stolen the day before. Funny, huh? Both vehicles were totaled. To this date, he has never been charged."
