After taking the car into the local Chevrolet dealer for a hydraulic fluid flushing, and rear end differential fluid change I was giving the car a once through on some rural country back roads before putting it up for the winter. About 5 miles from home the check engine light came on, about a mile later flames shot up through the defroster vent. The car burned for a total of 15 minutes. The initial response from the insurance adjuster was "I think the company will consider this a total loss, but we will have to wait and see."
