BMW i8 was following closely behind the 3 Series M-Sport Sedan, in the far right lane. Both were speeding. The i8 driver made a hard left lane change without signalling, and subsequently the 3-Series driver changed lanes without checking his blind spot. i8 driver tried to correct, but inadvertently pitted the 3-Series, spinning it around. 3-Series was fine, but the airbags in the i8 went off, rendering it totaled.
