Chevrolet Corvette C7 Stingray

Back in October of 2015, Chevrolet Corvette Stingray lost control and crashed his car in a drag racing event at the Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park in Chandler, Arizona. That wasn’t his only problem; he apparently had no track insurance. Geico Insurance paid out a total of $61,465. Strangely enough, it wasn’t until after that did Geico actually investigate the crash circumstances. A quick web search uncovered this video, aka the truth. Atlas either didn’t know or simply forgot the entire crash was filmed and posted on YouTube. When he was shown the new evidence, he immediately confessed to making the false claim and was charged with insurance fraud. A plea agreement was reached where Atlas avoided jail time by repaying the entire $61,465 in addition to $1,560 in court costs, and two years supervised probation. So let this be a lesson to everyone who wants to track their cars: get track insurance. If you opt not to, make sure there’s no video evidence of the crash online.
