Reportedly, the car was being run at the track during an HPDE (High Performance Driving Event) when the driver took a corner too aggressively, unintentionally inducing oversteer. He then over-corrected, first in one direction, then the other, until the car was caught in a pendulous zig-zag, slid off the tarmac, and struck a barrier which tipped the car onto its side.
