The driver of the high powered GT coupe and a passenger fled the scene leaving the man critically injured in the street after the smash in Pembridge Villas late last night. Passers-by rushed to help the man and paramedics fought to save him but he was pronounced dead at the scene at 1am today. Witnesses told how the victim, a council worker, was trying to direct traffic around his vehicle to prevent a crash just before the incident at 11.50pm last night. The £120,000 Bentley was left abandoned in the street with its engine left running, lights on and hip hop music blaring from its speakers.
