According to reports, at the time of the accident the red Ferrari was heading west down Tian Mu Shan Road towards Old Hill Road in the city. The car suddenly smashed into a divider in the centre of the road, flying over the top of it with the driver inside. The car flipped and landed roof first with its wheels facing the sky on top of a silver Volkswagen. Car parts from the sports car were scattered all over the road from the force of the impact, the car had been totally written off. After the accident, the driver’s friend allegedly picked him up in a Mercedes-Benz S350L and drove him away.
