The owner, Al Cui, said that he was filling his prize possession up with fuel, when he saw a spark. Before he knew it, flames were rising from beneath the engine cover. Cui quickly grabbed a fire extinguisher to put the flames out, but the fire had already taken to the car and Cui and others at the filling station were forced to flee. Miraculously, the Ferrari rolled off the forecourt, avoiding a potential explosion from the pumps next to where the Ferrari was standing. Cui claimed that the Ferrari had been left in gear, however the heat from the flames had somehow managed to enable the car to move by itself.
